Men Charged With Abduction For Springfield Robbery

SPRINGFIELD, VA—An attempt to rob employees in a Springfield restaurant backfired and resulted in abduction charges Monday night, according to Fairfax County Police.

Around 9:03 p.m. an Aroma Café employee reported the attempted robbery at 6969 Hechinger Drive. Two men reportedly came into the restaurant, grabbed two employees, and tried to steal money from them and the register.

The plan failed, and the two men left. Officers located Jimmy Sawaya, 24, of Woodbridge, and Jose Ayala Osorio, 25, of Springfield and identified them as the suspects.

Ayala Osorio was arrested charged with attempted robbery and abduction. Sawaya was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and abduction and served with an active warrant.

Burglary of an occupied dwelling and stolen vehicle: 7700 block of Havenbrook Way, between 8/12/18 at 10:00 p.m. and 8/13/18 at 10:00 a.m. A resident discovered both of their cars were missing from the parking spaces. An investigation revealed two unknown subjects got into one of the cars, took the garage door opener, and entered the home through the garage door. Once inside the home, the keys for both cars were taken and subsequently used to steal the cars.

• 6500 block of Castine Lane, 2015 Toyota Highlander

Larcenies:

• 6500 block of Castine Lane, wallet and license plates from vehicle
• 5900 block of Kingstowne Towne Center, liquor from business
• 6300 block of Springfield Towne Center, merchandise from business
• 7700 block of Backlick Road, mirrors from vehicles
• 7200 block of Fullerton Road, cell phone from location
• 7400 block of Havenbrook Way, property from vehicles
