KINGSTOWNE, VA—Ready or not, 2018 is close to coming to an end. If you're one who likes to ring in the new year with a party, there are plenty of options around Kingstowne. And for those who just want a dinner with friends, there are options there as well.

First Night Alexandria: The region's largest family-friendly and alcohol-free New Year's Eve event, has activities starting at 2 p.m. leading up to fireworks at midnight. You'll need a badge to access the First Night Alexandria venues, but watching fireworks in public is free. Location: Around Alexandria

New Year's Eve at Paradiso Italian Restaurant: For the 2nd year in a row, Paradiso will host New Year's Eve with music across the decades and a special menu. New Year at Fiona's Irish Pub: The pub will celebrate with music by Fat Chance, party favors, dancing and a champagne toast. There is no cover charge. Reservations are optional. Location: 5810 Kingstowne Center, Alexandria, Virginia 22315

Lucky's DJ / Karaoke Dance New Years Eve Party: Join DJ Ronnie G ofor dance music as well as karaoke, drinks, food and fun. Noisemakers and champagne are provided for midnight. Location: Lucky's Sports Theatre & Grill, 7027 Manchester Blvd, Alexandria, Virginia 22310

Friends & Family New Years Eve Celebration at Dave & Busters: Join family for entertainment and food on New Year's Eve. Dave & Busters has several packages available with buffets, desserts, drinks and game play. Location: 6655 Springfield Mall, Springfield, VA 22150
