Nominations Sought For Free Roof for the Holidays Program

NORTHERN VIRGINIA — A Northern Virginia individual, family, or nonprofit in need will get a free roof as part of DryHome Roofing and Siding's annual Free Roof for the Holidays program.

Sterling-based DryHome Roofing and Siding has been providing exterior home project services since 1988. Its Free Roof for the Holidays program seeks to thank customers and the community, ensuring the less fortunate can have a safe roof over their heads. Since the program began, the company has donated over 20 roofs worth nearly $200,000.

DryHome will accept nominations from the customers and the community throughout November. The winner will be announced in early December.

Last year's winner was a Navy veteran who founded Summit Dog, a nonprofit organization that provides animal therapy for individuals with disabilities and special needs in the Washington, D.C. area. Other past recipients have included a piano teacher, a Stafford mother of three who lost her husband, a Vienna mother struggling after a divorce; a Leesburg widow and mother of two young children, homelessness advocate Cornerstones, Doorways for Women and Families’ Safehouse, a Loudoun school bus driver, Good Shepherd Alliance, Falls Church Cub Scout House, and Gabriel Homes.

The nominator should include their name and phone number as well as nominee’s name, address, phone and reason why they are being nominated. DryHome's team will review and evaluate all applications before choosing the winner.
