Officers, K9 Find Gas Station Robber Hiding in Dumpster: Police

Fairfax County Police have arrested Brian Harman, 32, of Springfield, following an investigation into an early-morning armed robbery at a gas station.

Officers were called to the Saratoga Sunoco, located at 8040 Rolling Road in Springfield, around 6:40 a.m. on Thursday for the reported robbery, the police said.

An investigation determined a man entered the gas station wearing a black cap, black pullover sweater and black pants with white socks covering his hands, according to police. The suspect reportedly passed a note to a 37-year-old male employee, demanding money, police said. The employee complied and the suspect fled from the store, according to FCPD.

Responding officers, including K9, the helicopter and detectives, set up a perimeter and began searching for the suspect, police said. A short time later, a K9 officer and his partner, Uno, located the suspect, Harman, hiding in a trash dumpster behind the Saratoga Shopping Center, according to police. He was taken into custody without incident. Harman is charged with one count of robbery, police said.
