Pedestrian Hit And Killed In Springfield: Police

SPRINGFIELD, VA—A pedestrian was killed Friday morning after being hit by a motorcycle while trying to cross Old Keene Mill Road at Field Master Drive, according to Fairfax County Police. Hirute Siyum, 46, of Springfield, was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.

Around 7:30 a.m., Siyum was seen outside the marked crosswalk running north across the intersection in front of oncoming traffic. The driver of a 2016 Suzuki motorcycle, headed west on Old Keene Mill Road, couldn't avoid hitting her. The driver remained at the scene. Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be a factor for anyone involved.
