Pedestrian Killed In 3-Vehicle Springfield Crash: Police
Police believe a vehicle disregarded a red light and struck another vehicle, which hit a pedestrian.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — A March 28 three-vehicle crash in the commercial area of Springfield killed one pedestrian, according to Fairfax County Police.
The crash happened around 1 p.m. Monday, March 28 at Franconia Road West and Commerce Street. Police believe the driver of a 2020 Hyundai Elantra on Franconia Road West disregarded the red light and entered the intersection. The vehicle struck a 2018 Ford F-150 heading north on Loisdale Road. The truck continued into the Commerce Street median and struck the pedestrian. The truck then hit a 2021 Toyota Corolla in the left turn lane on Commerce Street.
The pedestrian and the drivers of the Hyundai and Ford went to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. The pedestrian's injuries worsened, and he died of his injuries six days after the crash. He was identified as Ellie Robinson, 63, of Springfield.

The Hyundai driver, Changjin Lee, 53, of Annandale, was charged with reckless driving. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
