Person Of Interest Found In April Senior Center Murder

BREAKING: Fairfax County Police said they have identified a person of interest in an April murder at a senior center.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA—Fairfax County detectives have identified a person of interest in the April 20 murder of an elderly man at Little River Glen Senior Center in Fairfax.

Cong Huu Nguyen, 77, was found dead in his apartment om April. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide resulting from upper body trauma. (Sign up for real time alerts and a newsletter. iPhone users can download the Patch app in the App Store.)

Detectives found the person of interest was someone Nguyen knew well, and the only person believed to be involved in the murder. The Department of Homeland Security told local authorities the person flew to Vietnam the day after the murder. The person was later found dead.

A person of interest, unlike a suspect is not formally accused of a crime but would have information. Police will release the person's identification and cause of death after the investigation is complete. Detectives are looking into financial gain as a potential motive.
