Pet Dies In Rose Hill Fire

BREAKING: A pet was found dead in the Rose Hill fire but all other residents are safe.

A pet died in a fire Saturday morning in Rose Hill, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue says.

Around 9:44 a.m., Fairfax County and Alexandria units responded to the fire in the 6100 block of Squire Lane to find smoke showing from the back of the single family home. Firefighters investigated further to find a fire in the basement.

The pet was found dead during a primary search. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. There is no initial estimate of damages.
