Police Escort Planned Wednesday for Investigator Who Died in Cycling Crash
Brazilian investigator died after a cycle crash during the World Police & Fire Games. Escort may tie up traffic.
Officers from multiple jurisdictions on Wednesday will escort an investigator killed last week during a cycling crash, as well as his family, to Dulles International airport for the flight home to Brazil.
Officers taking part in the escort for Brazilian investigator Carlos Silva, 48, will be from Fairfax County Police Department, assisted by officers from the City of Alexandria, Arlington County, the City of Fairfax, Prince William County and from the Virginia State Police.
The escort will depart Wednesday at 10 a.m. from Metropolitan Funeral Service at 5517 Vine St. (see map above) in Alexandria. The escort will travel on South Van Dorn Street to I95 South, to the I495 Hot Lanes North, to Rt. 267, the Dulles Access Road West, to the airport.
