Police Fish Handgun from Kingstowne Pond
Police say a 15- year-old juvenile male was in possession of a handgun and had shown it to other juveniles and then discarded it.

Police have retrieved a handgun from a Kingstowne pond Friday morning.
On Tuesday, police received a report that a 15- year-old juvenile male was in possession of a handgun and had shown it to other juveniles and then discarded it, according to Fairfax County Police. In an effort to secure the weapon and prevent any danger to the public, initial investigation led officers to search a wooded area in the Hayfield area, police said in a news release issued Friday.
When this did not yield results, police continued their investigation which eventually led to the search of a pond in the Kingstowne area.

The police underwater search and recovery unit succeeded in locating what appears to be the handgun in that pond on the morning of March 27. Investigation continues.
