Police: Man Dies After Crash Into Tree on Loisdale Road
Police are trying to find out why the van went off the road, striking a tree and fence this afternoon.
A Falls Church man died in a crash in the Kingstowne area Thursday afternoon, according to Fairfax County Police.
Crash reconstruction unit detectives are investigating the fatal crash that occurred today around 12:15 p.m.
A 61-year-old man identified as Lawrence Lee Lawson of Falls Church was driving alone in his 2011 Ford Van northbound on Loisdale Road.

For unknown reasons, the van left the road to the right, struck a tree and a fence in front of 6999 Loisdale Road.
A motorist contact 9-1-1; the victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. There were no other vehicles or people involved in the crash.
