Police Report Afternoon Burglary on Wellington Commons Drive

Fairfax County Police report that a burglary took place in the Kingstowne area last Thursday afternoon, in the 6100 block of Wellington Commons Drive.

The incident took place at about 4:10 p.m.; the neighborhood is located near the intersection of Van Dorn Street and Franconia Road.

Police responded to the home for a report of a burglary. A 58-year-old woman reported she had just returned home when she heard glass break from another level of the home. She went to her balcony to investigate and saw a man flee on foot from her backyard, according to police.

The man was described as black, about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a stocky build. He wore a black, quilted jacket. Nothing appeared to be missing from the home.
