Police Report Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in Kingstowne Area

Incident took place at her front door on Wellington Commons Drive near intersection of S. Van Dorn and Franconia Road.

Fairfax County Police say a woman was robbed at gunpoint at her front door early Monday morning in the Kingstowne area.

Police say the robbery took place at about 2:14 a.m. Monday in the 6100 block of Wellington Commons Drive (see map).

The victim was approached by a man at the front door to her residence, police said. The man then pointed a gun at her and demanded her purse, according to police. The suspect took property and fled on foot, police said.

The victim did not require medical attention, according to police.

The suspect was described as a male of unknown race, about 6 feet tall, wearing dark clothing and a black baseball cap, according to police.
