Police: Springfield Area Man Dead After Shooting
Police identified the man as Mohammed Moshin Najim, 25.

Fairfax County Police say that a Springfield man, Mohammed Moshin Najim, 25, was shot to death Thursday night.
Detectives are investigating the shooting that took place in the 8100 block Curving Creek Court in the Springfield area.
Police responded Thursday night to the home at around 10 p.m. for a report of a disturbance. When they got there, they discovered a man with an apparent gunshot wound to his lower extremities outside on the front stairs, according to a news release from police.

Police located a person and weapon, believed to have been involved in the shooting, they said.
The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died, according to police.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. They say they believe it was isolated to the residence, and that the two men involved knew each other. Police say they do not believe there is a threat to the public.
The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
