Rose Hill Bank Robbery Prompts Manhunt; Secured School: Police
Officers are in the area searching for a person who reportedly robbed a BB&T bank.
ROSE HILL, VA—A search is underway for a bank robber in Rose Hill Friday.
Police say the BB&T at 5203 Franconia Road was robbed. It was unclear if a weapon was involved or if anyone was injured.
The suspect was described as a black man around 5 foot 8 wearing a purple hat, dark blue hoodie and blue jeans. Police believe the suspect may have left the area, but officers continue to search for the suspect.

Rose Hill Elementary School was temporarily secured. A message from the school reads:

Due to police activity in the Rose Hill neighborhood, we secured the building to ensure that our students remained safe. At approximately 2:20 PM, we received word from Fairfax County Police that the situation was under control and that we could resume activities as planned. Our day continued without incident.
