The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille(R) to Open New Location in Alexandria, Va.

The new restaurant, which has a target opening in September, will bring more than 100 jobs to the area

The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille today announced it will open a new location in Alexandria, Va., at 7879 Heneska Loop. The new restaurant has a target opening in September and will bring new jobs to the area by hiring more than 100 employees. The new 7,000 square foot location will seat approximately 300 guests.

In celebration of its grand opening, The Greene Turtle will reward its first 100 Alexandria guests with one free burger, sandwich or appetizer per month for the first year. One prize per customer will be rewarded with a proof of purchase, and will be based upon entry order and as supplies last.

“We are thrilled to further expand our presence in the Virginia market with the opening of our newest location,” said Mike Transeau, general manager of The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille in Alexandria. “We’re excited to bring our love for food and sports to the community. As a neighborhood hangout, we look forward to welcoming and supporting the many local military families in Alexandria. As a salute to their commitments and sacrifices for our country, we are proud to offer all active and retired military a 15 percent discount on all food.”

With the addition of the new Alexandria location, The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille, which first opened in Ocean City, Md., in 1976, has 41 locations in five states and the District of Columbia. The Greene Turtle is a community hangout for all ages that serves great food and drinks in a fun, casual atmosphere built on the excitement and unity of sports.

Guests of The Greene Turtle can participate in unique programs like the Mug Club, which gives members the chance to own a piece of The Greene Turtle with their own mug at their local restaurant and $1 off every draft, and Turtle Rewards, a loyalty program that offers guests discounts on food and beverages by earning points using a rewards card or the Turtle Rewards mobile app. The Greene Turtle is also committed to the communities it inhabits with programs like Funds for Friends, which benefits local organizations, and Tips for Tots, which raises funds for Toys for Tots with tips donated by Greene Turtle employees.
