Suspect Dies After Springfield Shooting: Police

Police say the suspect has died of injuries at the hospital.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — The suspect in the Friday morning shooting in Springfield has died, according to Fairfax County Police.

Around 6:50 a.m., police responded to a shooting in the 6100 block of Hibbling Avenue where two people were injured by gunfire. Two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect died of his injuries at the hospital. Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect attempted to take his life as officers arrived after the initial shooting.
