Alexandria Funeral Home Collects Condolences For Barbara Bush
The local funeral home is giving residents a chance to share condolence messages in a memorial book.

Millions of Americans mourned the death of former First Lady Barbara Bush on April 17. Her death hits home in the national capital region, and that's why an Alexandria funeral home is collecting messages of condolences and remembrance.
Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, is holding memorial book signing events in honor of Bush. Community members are invited to sign the memorial book 9 a.m.-p.m. starting Friday, April 20 through Friday, April 27.
Bush passed away at her Houston home Tuesday evening surrounded by her family. She was 92. Her death comes just two days after the family made a public statement that she would forego any further medical treatment and live out her days at home. She served as First Lady from 1989 to 1993.
