Update: Missing Springfield Man Located

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A Springfield man who went missing Friday morning was found by Vienna police on the W&OD Trail, the Fairfax County police announced Friday night.

Gabriel O’Connor, 32, was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital for minor injuries, the Fairfax County police said.

O'Connor has a number of mental health issues that require daily medication, the police said. He's known to walk significant distances, frequently to shopping centers.

Used by hikers, bicyclists and joggers, the W&OD Trail stretches from Purcellville in Loudoun County to Arlington, running through the town of Vienna. The 45-mile, asphalt-paved trail is administered by the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority.
