Springfield Man Struck, Killed Crossing Backlick Road: Report
Fairfax County Police are looking for the driver who fled the scene of a Wednesday night crash that left a Springfield man dead.
SPRINGFIELD, VA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday evening as he was crossing the intersection of Backlick Road and Edsall Road, according to a release from the Fairfax County Police Department. Police identified the victim as 63-year-old Daniel McKay of Springfield.
FCPD's Crash Reconstruction Unit determined that McKay was not in the crosswalk as he was crossing the intersection, when a vehicle traveling south on Backlick Road stuck him. McKay was pronounced dead at the scene. After striking McKay, the driver of the vehicle fled. This remains an active investigation.

Anonymous tipsters who provide information that leads to an arrest are eligible for cash rewards of $100 to $1,000.
