Springfield Town Center Grand Re-Opening Friday

Stores opened their doors at Thursday night VIP preview. Doors open Friday at 10 a.m.

Springfield Town Center opened its doors for a VIP preview Thursday night, the night before its grand re-opening.

Champagne, hors d’oeuvres, chocolate fountains, photographers, musicians, costumed characters and goody bags were all a part of the special night offering a sneak peek of the multimillion-dollar renovation.

Local officials including Supervisor Jeff McKay (D-Lee District) will preside over a ribbon-cutting Friday at 10 a.m. before the doors officially open to the public. You can watch the ribbon-cutting at the Grand Entry (facing Loisdale Road), 6500 Springfield Mall.

PREIT (Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust and Vornado executives will host the ribbon cutting.

The anchors of the shopping center are Macy’s, Target, JCPenney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Regal Cinemas and LA Fitness.

Restaurants include Maggiano’s Little Italy, Yard House, Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill and Chuy’s.

The 1.3 million square foot shopping center will also be the home of the D.C. area’s first Topshop (there are only three in the country), plus other top fashion retailers such as Michael Kors, J. Crew, Pandora and Sephora.

A unique Children’s Court at Springfield Town Center will open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. Word Girl, Scholastic representatives and PREIT and Vornado executives will be on hand, along with entertainment for children of all ages.
