Suspect Sought After Armed Robbery In Newington Area: Police

NEWINGTON, VA — Police are seeking a suspect after an armed robbery at the Saratoga Shopping Center in Newington.

Officers were called to the Verizon retailer at 8094 Rolling Road around 8:43 p.m. Police believed a man approached an employee who was closing the store. The suspect reportedly displayed a gun and demanded merchandise from the store. He fled with stolen merchandise. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a man of an unknown race between 20 and 30 years old and wearing dark clothing.
