Teen Flees With Stolen Jewelry In Springfield: Police

Police say a store clerk was injured when the teen tried on jewelry and tried to leave.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—A teen is facing charges after fleeing with stolen jewelry at Springfield Town Center New Year's Eve.

Around 12:54 p.m., a store clerk at Diamond Designs reported the robbery. Police say the teen tried on jewelry and fled with it. The clerk tried to stop him by grabbing his shirt. She was taken to the hospital with an arm and wrist injury.

Officers located the teen, a 16-year-old boy, at a Metro station. Police obtained juvenile petitions for robbery, forgery, uttering and possession of burglarious tools.
