KINGSTOWNE, VA — Topgolf Alexandria, the first U.S. location, will close at 6625 South Van Dorn Street in Kingstowne, according to a new media report.

Washington Business Journal reported the closure will happen by Jan. 15. Topgolf will focus on its other sites, including the larger Topgolf in National Harbor, Maryland.

Proposals under consideration by Fairfax County would put a mixed-use development with townhouses, retail and recreation at the site. The Fairfax County Planning Commission indefinitely deferred a comprehensive plan amendment for the Topgolf site in October.
