Train Derails In Springfield, None Injured: Police

The train derailment happened at Industrial Road in Springfield, according to Fairfax County Police.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — A freight train derailed in Springfield Wednesday afternoon, according to Fairfax County Police.

The derailment happened around the 5600 block of Industrial Road. No one was injured, and police say no hazards were identified.

There was no immediate word on what caused the train to go off the track. A photo appeared to show the train was from Norfolk Southern.
