SPRINGFIELD, VA—Metro and Virginia Railway Express are working on a deal to lower parking costs for VRE riders at the Franconia-Springfield garage. <a href="https://patch.com/virginia/kingstowne/nearly-9-parking-concern-some-franconia-metro" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Since February</a>, Metro has charged $8.95 for non-riders and $4.95 for riders on weekdays ($2 on Saturdays for Metro riders). The deal would mean VRE riders wouldn't have to pay the higher cost, WTOP reports. How that will happen is up in the air.
