Warm Sushi Items: Kingstowne Restaurant Violations

KINGSTOWNE, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from recent Kingstowne, Springfield and Rose Hill area inspections in August. Among the violations were warm sushi items found in coolers at Matsui Sushi Restaurant. The violation was corrected during the inspection.

Matsui Sushi Restaurant: 6408 Landsdowne Centre, Alexandria, VA 22315, last inspection: Aug. 22

violation: foods cold holding at improper temperatures

Saigon City: 6333 Brandon Avenue, Springfield, VA 22150, last inspection: Aug. 18

violations: noodles and rice cold holding at improper temperatures, supplies with water damage in basement due to leaking pipe (both corrected) display cooler not operating properly

Bob & Edith's Diner: 5918 N. Kings Hwy, ALEXANDRIA, VA 22303, last inspection: Aug. 17

Ruby Tuesday: 6601 South Van Dorn St, Alexandria, VA 22315, last inspection: Aug. 23
