Painter Electrocuted, Killed At Huntington Apartment Building

Update: Police say an Alexandria man died by electrocution at a Huntington apartment complex.

(Updated 3:36 p.m.) HUNTINGTON, VA—Police are responding to the death of a worker in the Huntington area.

The incident happened in the 2800 block of Fairhaven Avenue, which appears to be a residential area.

Police tell Patch the worker was a painter contracted by the apartment building. The victim was on a ladder when coming into contact with a high-voltage power source. Ervin Marenco Andasol, 36, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His family has been notified.

The incident appears to be accidental, but police investigations have not yet confirmed.

Police have not identified the company he works for, or the apartment building. Patch will update this story as more information is expected to be released.
