FREE SUMMER READING SERIES: Urban Renewed

Commerce Street Theater is offering another free public reading of a new work! Urban Renewed is the second play in the series, written by local Billy Hansen. When describing Urban Renewed, Billy says:  "For Charlie Payne, the sixties mean change and lots of it. His business is evolving. His father is aging. His son is growing up faster than he can fathom. His whole world is transforming right in front of his eyes.  And on top of all that, the City has let him know that his downtown family print shop happens to be right in the path of progress whether he likes it or not. In these rapidly changing times, Charlie struggles to keep his family, his small business, and his life together." 
Saturday's reading of Urban Renewed will be directed by Ryleigh Grace Tatum. Readers are: Carey Martin, Erin Rierson, Ruthy Olds, Doug MacLeod, Wyatt Moore, Karl Lindevaldsen, Scott Rankins and Jude Rodriguez. Stage Manager/Narrator is Andrew Jernigan 

House opens at 7pm, and concessions will be on sale before the show and during intermission.
