Cop Assaulted After Fake Burglary Call in Haymarket: Police

Prince William County Police say the woman was intoxicated and kicked an interviewing officer.

HAYMARKET, VA — An intoxicated Haymarket woman who phoned in a bogus burglary call and then kicked a responding officer in the leg was arrested Saturday night, according to Prince William County Police.

Cathy Jo Hottle, 41, of the 15400 block of Arnold Palmer Drive, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer.

About 8 p.m., police responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 15400 block of Arnold Palmer Drive but immediately knew no such burglary was, in fact, in progress, and that the woman was intoxicated.

While speaking with officers, she kicked one of them in the leg.

She was arrested without further incident.
