In Custody: Robbery Suspect in Marijuana Deal Gone Wrong

Martin Anuar Martinez had been sought in the January robbery of three acquaintances, according to Prince William County Police.

MANASSAS, VA — The suspect in a 2-month-old armed robbery investigation was taken into custody on Thursday by members of the U.S. Marshals' Fugitive Task Force.

Martin Anuar Martinez, 25, of no fixed address, is charged with 3 counts of robbery and 3 counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

He's suspected in the Jan. 15 robbery of three acquaintances who met Martinez in the 7300 block of Old Centreville Road, expecting to purchase marijuana.

Instead, Martinez and another man allegedly pulled out handguns and took the victims' money and cell phones, according to Prince William County Police.

Martinez was arrested in the same block of Old Centreville Road as he was leaving a home Thursday.
