Domestic Dispute Turns Ugly in Dumfries: Police

DUMFRIES, VA — Knives, clothes set on fire and an attempted strangulation were all part of a domestic dispute that turned ugly Saturday afternoon and led to two arrests in the 15700 block of Lansdale Place, according to Prince William County Police.

Troy Derrell Easley, 24, of the 15700 block Lansdale Place in Dumfries was charged with attempted malicious wounding, attempted strangulation, and domestic assault & battery. He's being held without bond.

Samantha Elizabeth Salandy, 28, of the 14600 block of Endsley Turn in Woodbridge was charged with attempted malicious wounding, domestic assault & battery, and destruction of property.

The two acquaintances were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated physically, say police. During the incident, both parties retrieved knives before the Beasley grabbed Salandy by the throat.

Afterward, according to police, Salandy lit clothing on fire belonging to Easley. The fire was extinguished and police were eventually contacted. Minor injuries were reported.
