Gainesville Ballet presents CARMEN

Gainesville Ballet wowed audiences last year with its premiere of CARMINA BURANA, getting standing ovations and cheers from the audience.  This production of CARMEN is sure to thrill as well!   The world premiere of Gainesville Ballet’s CARMEN is choreographed to the Carmen Suite, based on the opera by Bizet, and also features an excerpt of the opera with live singing by soprano Elysabeth Muscat, who sang at top European Opera Houses and has been on the voice faculty of the Peabody Institute for 15 years.  Gainesville Ballet’s outstanding professional company will be supplemented by international guest dancers and the outstanding junior company.   The show opener, COLLECTION, is another premiere by Artistic Director Rafik Hegab, featuring a collection of short contemporary pieces to hard driving music.  Instead of going to yet another performance of Sleeping Beauty, check out this fresh production of brand new repertoire to fantastic dancing, music, sets, and costumes by the award winning Gainesville Ballet, the rising star of the dance world in Northern Virginia.
