Kittens Desperately Need Foster Homes
Tis the season when the Prince William County Animal Shelter needs a helping hand with furry little friends.

Spring is kitten season, and that means the Animal Shelter is in desperate need of people willing to foster them.
The Animal Shelter’s Volunteer Foster Care Program provides temporary housing and care for canines, felines, and other animals that are not quite ready for adoption.

Animals that need foster care include puppies and kittens under two months old, mothers with nursing litters, dogs and cats with medical conditions or injuries, and special-needs animals.
The typical foster stay is between two weeks and two months, depending on the needs of the individual animals. The time frame of each foster situation will be discussed ahead of time.

Foster families provide housing and bedding for the animals in their care. They also provide exercise and socialization.
The Animal Shelter provides food, toys and medical care for animals in foster homes, including medications and vaccinations – and a cage/crate if necessary.
If you are interested in being a foster volunteer, please complete the Animal Shelter Volunteer Application at www.pwcgov.org/animalshelter (click on Animal Shelter in the navigation bar and select “Volunteer With Us”.)
You can mail or hand-deliver the completed application to the Animal Shelter at 14807 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA 20112. If you don’t have access to a computer, you can stop by the Animal Shelter and pick up an application.
