Manassas Restaurant Earns Wine Award for Sixth Consecutive Year

Carmello’s of Old Town Manassas recently earned Wine Spectator magazine’s 2015 Award of Excellence for the sixth consecutive year, for its vast Portuguese wine selections.

Carmello’s offers more than 100 Portuguese wines from Portuguese regions, such as Alentejo, Douro, Doa, Estremadura and Vinho Verde, and presents one of the largest Portuguese wine lists in the United States.

“We are always looking to ways to improve and enhance our wine selection,” said Alice Pires, owner of Carmello’s and Monza of Old Town Manassas. “We’re honored to be selected by Wine Spectator Magazine.”

About Carmello’s and Monza:

Carmello’s of Old Town Manassas was established in 1987 and is owned by Portuguese immigrant Alice Pires of Manassas. The family-owned restaurant offers fine dining, serving a European-style cuisine with Portuguese influence.

In 2011, their sister restaurant, Monza, was created, providing bistro fare. Carmello’s earned the Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator magazine for six consecutive years, and has been voted best fine dining restaurant by Prince William Today for 2013.
