Police: Burglar Left Scene Just Before Officers Arrived

MANASSAS, Va. -- The Prince William County police are looking for a man who broke into a stereo shop shortly after midnight Thursday, and then fled just two minutes before officers arrived.

The police describe the burglary suspect as a black man, between 20 and 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light-colored hat, light-colored shirt and light-colored pants

At 12:25 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the Audio Buys at 13525 Wellington Center Circle in Manassas to investigate an alarm activation. When they arrived, they found that the store's front glass door had been shattered by a rock, according to a police report.

The store's video surveillance system captured images of the suspect entering the business at around 12:23 a.m. Friday, and then leaving in an unknown car, the police said. A Denon audio receiver was reported missing.
