Police: Fugitives Caught After Chase in Neighborhood

The two Manassas suspects were wanted for grand larceny and other charges, say Fairfax County police.

RESTON, VA - Two fugitives from Manassas, wanted on criminal charges in Prince William and Loudoun counties, were arrested Tuesday morning after a chase through a Reston neighborhood, according to the Fairfax County police.

Ricardo Pena and [Name removed], both 26, were charged with six felony charges, including grand larceny, providing false information to police, three felony drug charges, and possession of marijuana, the Fairfax County police said.

They were apprehended after police responded at about 5:19 a.m. Tuesday to a report of someone breaking into a vehicle in the 9700 block of Thompson Run Court near Pinstripe Court. The subdivision is just south of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and east of Hunter Mill Road.

Police officers spotted an individual running from the scene. A helicopter and other officers with a police dog were summoned to help search for the suspect, the police said, and Pena and Amato were nabbed after a short chase through the neighborhood.

The police determined that both suspects were wanted in Prince William and Loudoun counties, and Loudoun detectives are working to determine whether Pena and [Name removed] were involved in auto thefts earlier this week, the Fairfax County police said.
