Police: Open Garages Invited Bicycle Thieves (ICYMI)
In Case You Missed It: Two juveniles arrested for Gainesville thefts: Prince William County police.

Two teenagers were arrested last week for allegedly stealing bicycles that were left in unlocked and open garages in three Gainesville homes.
The Prince William County police on Thursday charged a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy for the thefts, according to a police report. Both are from Gainesville.

The 15-year-old has been charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of petit larceny, and the 17-year-old has been charged with burglary and petit larceny, the police report said.
The arrests came about after police officers responded on June 25 to three burglaries reported in Gainesville between 1:45 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. Two occurred at homes in the 14100 block of Murphy Terrace and one in the 9300 block of Worthington Drive.

In all three cases, bicycles were reported stolen from garages that were left open and unsecured, the police said. Through an investigation, police officers identified and apprehended the two juvenile suspects.
