Prince William County police officers arrested Sarra Quali, 24, of 13905 Dumfries Road (Route 234) at noon Tuesday when she returned home, according to a police report. She allegedly had left the home at around 6 a.m. that morning, leaving the 18-month-old child alone in the room.
Quali was being held without bond last week at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail, and her next date in court is Oct. 8.

The police were called to the home at about 7:47 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a report of child neglect. The caller, an occupant of the home, told them that Quali had left her child unattended inside a lower-level apartment within the home.
The child was found buckled into a car seat near the bed inside a bedroom. The child did not appear injured, and was released to the custody of another family member, the police said.
