Novant Health announced Wednesday that the multiyear project will include a new façade, hallway improvements, a new universal care unit for patients under observation, and an expanded central energy plant to enhance efficiency.

Additionally, the renovation will add new conference rooms, a new entry to the gift shop and a new chapel to the Manassas-area hospital, at 8700 Sudley Road (Route 234).

“Renovations will improve privacy and flow for our patients,” said Bebe Holt, the chief operating officer of the Prince William Medical Center, in a Novant Health statement. “Right now, we have one hallway that everyone travels through. The renovation will allow us to have a public thoroughfare for visitors and guests and a separate staff thoroughfare that will allow team members to transfer patients privately throughout the building.”

Based in Winston-Salem, N.C., Novant Health is a four-state network of physician clinics, outpatient centers and hospitals.
