Ribbon Cutting Set For New Haymarket Gainesville Community Library
Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. is the ribbon cutting for the brand new Haymarket Gainesville Library!

There’s nothing like cracking open a fresh, new book. The smell of the ink, the crispness of the pages bring alive the words you’re about to devour. If this sounds like your kind of recreation, mark your calendars for Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Book lovers won’t want to miss the ribbon cutting ceremony at the brand new Haymarket Gainesville Community Library. The new library is located at the intersection of Lightner Road and Route 15. You’ll want to be first in line to get dibs on your favorite books while they still have that new book smell!
There’s a lot to experience at the Haymarket Gainesville Community Library, where traditional services meet technology. The new facility includes tried and true library services like checking out materials, information services, readers’ advisory services, children’s programs and services, alongside technologically-forward resources like electronic research systems, web-based library services, wireless public Internet access and self check-out.
If your kids enjoy storytelling, the new library has a nice, bright area with lots of windows in the children and youth section. Stories will come to life in this colorful space. Kids can play with puzzles, enjoy books on their own or with a parent and choose their next bedtime story to checkout.
Come explore all the fresh, new materials. Books and shelves from the old library are all being donated to other county libraries so everything in the new library is brand new. Whether you love to inhale the smell of the pages as you read or you prefer digitized print (or even listening to a narrator as you virtually flip through your audiobook), this new library will have something for everyone.
If you need a place to concentrate on your work or homework, the library provides quiet rooms and wireless public Internet access. You can get away from the noise of your office cubicle, or the distractions of your home office, without retreating to a crowded coffee shop for Wi-Fi access.
This larger library will also better serve the needs of the community. The community had outgrown its old library with the population boom in Prince William County over the past decade. Whether it’s parents coming together for social interaction and story time for the kiddos or high school students studying for exams, a public library can be beneficial to all. If you need to hold your monthly club meeting or organize a local food drive, the meeting rooms at the library will be able to accommodate. While the books and resources are amazing, the library is about so much more. It’s about community, education and coming together to share information. And the best part about it, all of these services are free!
On-site you can see a historic structure, the farm house known as Bushy Park, which was relocated to this land from its previous location on Catharpin Road. Bushy Park is currently being restored by the Prince William County Historic Division.
Jacobson Realty and Home Staging is proud to be part of the local community that serves neighborhoods and the whole county. If you would like more information on Western Prince William County, contact them.
