Route 28 Nighttime Closures To Continue This Weekend
A detour will be in place Friday and Saturday nights during storm sewer work.
Route 28 (Nokesville Road) between Aden Road and Battalion Square will again be closed in both directions Friday and Sunday nights so that crews can continue storm sewer line work, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

- 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday
- 10 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday
Traffic will be detoured via Fitzwater Drive, Kettle Run Road and Vint Hill Road, VDOT said.
The work is part of Prince William County’s $69.9 million Route 28 widening project. Phase One, which involves relocating Vint Hill Road to Route 28’s intersection with Infantry Lane and widening Route 28 to six lanes between Linton Hall Road and the relocated Vint Hill Road, is scheduled for completion in July 2016.

Construction of Phase Two, which involves widening Route 28 to four lanes between the relocated Vint Hill Road and Fitzwater Drive in Nokesville, is scheduled to begin next March and has an estimated completion date of December 2017.
