Townhouse Fire Leaves 7 Displaced, Causes $20,000 in Damage

The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.

Release, Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue:

On Sunday, August 30th, at approximately 11:00 p.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a structure fire in a townhouse located in the 7600 block of Monitor Court in Manassas.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire in the garage of a three level end of row townhome with smoke emitting from the front and side of the home. Fire and rescue crews commenced suppression and extinguishment of the fire and checked for further extension; no further extension was found.

Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the family, five adults and two children, displaced by the fire.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at $20,000.

A Building Inspector was called to assess the structure and posted the home unsafe.
