$50K In Items Found In Tysons Credit Card Fraud Case

Officers found devices used to create fraudulent credit cards and identification inside the men's car.

TYSONS, VA—Police located $50,000 worth of items while investigating a credit card fraud case at Tysons Corner Center on Friday, April 5.

Around 1:47 p.m., Apple store staff reported a man believed to be a suspect in a previous credit card fraud incident. Investigations revealed two other men worked with him to make purchases with stolen credit cards.

Officers arrested the three men in their car. Inside the car were devices used to manufacture fraudulent credit cards and identification documents and the $50,000 in merchandise.

Madalin Florea, 43, of Connecticut was charged with three counts of credit card theft, three counts of credit card fraud, three counts of larceny with intent to sell and possession of a fictitious driver’s license. Coja Ion, 60, of no fixed address was charged with credit card theft, credit card fraud, larceny with intent to sell and possession of a fictitious driver’s license. Gabriel Balam, 29, of no fixed address was charged with credit card theft, credit card fraud, larceny with intent to sell and three counts of possession of a fictitious driver’s license.
