Armed Kidnapping Of McLean Man In DC Leads To Arrest Of 2 MD Men

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department arrested two suspects in connection to the armed kidnapping of a McLean man in Washington, D.C. The arrests were made by MPD's Carjacking Taskforce with help from the FBI.

Investigators determined that the victim had arranged to meet with one of the suspects around 12:30 a.m., on Feb. 28, at 25th Street and L Street, Northwest.

Once the man arrived at the agreed upon location, two men exited a vehicle and pointed handguns at him. They then forced the victim to drive them in his car to his home in McLean, where they stole money and other items from the victim. The suspects then forced the victim to drive them to District Heights, Maryland, where they got out of the car and fled the scene, according to police. The victim then reported the incident to the Prince George's County Police Department.

Acting on indictments from the U.S. District Court, MPD officers arrested 30-year-old Timothy Williams, of Camp Springs, Maryland, and 30-year-old Jaevonn Archer of Capitol Heights, Maryland on Tuesday. The were both charged with armed kidnapping.

In addition to the FBI, MPD investigators were assisted by the Arlington County Police Department, Fairfax County Police Department, and Prince George’s County Police Department.
