Dog Stranded In Stream Rescued In Great Falls
The pup was stuck on the rocks in Difficult Run when crews came to the rescue.

GREAT FALLS, VA—Emergency crews made a daring rescue of a dog trapped in a stream Wednesday in Great Falls.
Around 4:48 p.m., Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to Difficult Run near Georgetown Pike for a dog trapped on the rocks. The dog was stuck and unable to get to shore, while bystanders decided to call for help rather than enter the water.
All turned out well, with a swift water team entering the stream and getting the pup to its owner safely.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue urges residents to call 911 rather than enter waterways in dangerous conditions. Forecasters warned about flooding in Difficult Run Wednesday from heavy rains overnight. The stream flooded onto roads in some parts of Fairfax County, prompting swift water rescues of people stranded in cars.
