Hash Brown Recall Includes Virginia Stores
Frozen hash browns were recalled from Harris Teeter due to contamination with golf ball materials, officials said.

MCLEAN, VA -- A brand of hash browns at Virginia Harris Teeter stores are being recalled due to contamination from golf ball materials.
According to the FDA, the frozen hash browns made by McCain Foods USA were "inadvertently harvested with potatoes used to make this product." The products could have a choking hazard if consumed. The hash browns are sold under the Harris Teeter and Roundy's brands in Virginia, Maryland, D.C., North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware, Florida and Georgia.
The recalled products were manufactured on January 19 and distributed after that date. Customers that have bought the products should throw them away or return them to stores. No injuries have been reported because of the golf ball contamination.
