Home Escapes Brings the Offenbachers
Brand Back to Life in Two DC-Area Locations
Herndon, VA -- April 18, 2017 – Herndon, VA – Home Escapes, the DC region’s largest destination for hot tubs, patio furniture, swim spas and other backyard leisure products, today announced that it has acquired the Offenbachers brand and many of its product lines. To accommodate consumer demand, the company has opened a new store in Rockville, in addition to its large showroom in Herndon.
Offenbachers, a famous Baltimore-Washington leisure retailer since the 1970s, went into bankruptcy at the end of 2016, closing all eight of its stores in Maryland and Virginia, to the disappointment of Offenbachers’ large customer base. With its acquisition of the Offenbachers brand, Home Escapes is now able to fill the void left by the Offenbachers closing, offering many of the outdoor furniture and billiards products formerly carried exclusively by Offenbachers.
Home Escapes will now be called Home Escapes and the New Offenbachers. This new moniker allows the company to leverage both the name-recognition of the Offenbachers brand and the stellar reputation of the Home Escapes brand. Dave Cintorino, president of the company, points out that “By using the term ‘the new Offenbachers’, we are letting Offenbachers customers know that the level of customer service they can now expect from us has been elevated to the level that Home Escapes has built its reputation on over the last 30 years.” Moreover, the combination of the two brands into the new name reflects the larger assortment of products available to customers; i.e., more outdoor furniture brands plus hot tubs, swim spas, fire pits and pool tables.

The company decided not to move into any of the former Offenbachers showroom locations, opting instead to focus on providing the highest level of customer service at its Herndon and Rockville locations. The company chose the locations due to their convenience for shoppers and the reasonable rent. Cintorino, who founded the company in 1986, said “There is no need for us to be in the high-rent districts. Our locations are easy to get to and provide a pleasant shopping experience for our customers. We’ve chosen to make our showrooms tasteful but unpretentious, allowing us to offer prices that are far lower than those offered by our competitors who put more money into rent and fancy merchandising.”
The Herndon showroom is located at 292 Sunset Park Drive, in the Sunset Business Park, just around the corner from Reston Town Center. The brand-new Rockville showroom is at 5528 Nicholson Lane, just off of Rockville Pike near the old White Flint mall.
