Jan. 15 Weather Decision Made For Fairfax County Schools
Fairfax County Public Schools announced schedule changes related to the snow.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA—Fairfax County Public Schools announced a two-hour delay for Tuesday, Jan. 15. School offices and central offices will open on time. The delay is meant to give student walkers and drivers more daylight hours to get to school.
FCPS also announced the following schedule changes:
- Morning preschool (special education) classes are canceled
- Afternoon preschool classes start on their regular schedule
- Full-day preschool (special education) and Family and Early Childhood Education Program-Head Start classes start two hours later than the regular schedule
- Morning field trips are canceled
- School age childcare centers (SACC) will open at 8 a.m.
- Morning transportation for high school academy classes is canceled
- Transportation for afternoon academy classes will be provided
- Adult and community education classes will start on time
Fairfax County students had off Monday, Jan. 14 as snow cleanup efforts continued. Snow fell for much of the Jan. 12-13 weekend in DC and Northern Virginia, with some areas receiving nearly a foot of snow.
