VDOT Holding Informational Meeting on Route 7 Improvements Project

The meeting will take place on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6-8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Forestville Elementary School in Great Falls.

As the Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) Route 7 Corridor Improvements Project continues, VDOT will host a public information to answer the community’s questions this Thursday evening.

The meeting will take place from6-8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Forestville Elementary School on Utterback Store Road in Great Falls. The meeting is free to attend and there is no reservation required.

The Route 7 Corridor Improvements Project aims to decrease congestion, increase capacity and improve safety along a vital seven-mile stretch of Route 7 between Reston Avenue and Jarrett Valley Drive.

Proposed improvements include widening Route 7 from four to six lanes and adding 10-foot-wide shared use lanes for pedestrians and cyclists on both sides of the road.
